How to Extend a Furnished Stay Without Disruption

Needing more time is common. The difficult version is discovering that need a few days before departure, after the residence has been promised to someone else. A good extension starts with an early conversation, even when the new end date is not final.

Raise the possibility early

Contact the Booking Desk as soon as an extension becomes realistic. You can explain that the dates are provisional. The team can check the residence’s future availability and tell you what information is needed to move forward.

Share one clear set of details

Include the current booking reference, residence, original departure date and best estimate of the new date. Confirm whether the same guests will remain. If your company or relocation coordinator arranged the stay, keep that person in the conversation so payment and approval do not become separate delays.

Wait for written confirmation

An enquiry is not an extension. The additional period is confirmed only when availability, price, any required payment and the revised booking details have been agreed. Until then, keep the original departure date in your plans.

If the same home is not available

Ask what alternatives can be offered and compare the practical impact, not only the rate. Consider distance, workspace, parking, accessibility and the time needed to move. A nearby residence that keeps the same routine may be more valuable than a superficially similar home farther away.

Review the policy before changing course

An extension adds time; a shortened stay changes the original commitment. They are not the same request. If your plans may end earlier, review the applicable cancellation and modification terms and ask the Booking Desk how they apply to your booking.

Update the ordinary details

Once the extension is confirmed, revise any parking, access or guest information that has changed. Move calendar reminders, update the person expecting your arrival elsewhere and keep the new confirmation with the original booking record.

One useful habit

Set a date to review your plans before the booking reaches its final weeks. It gives you time to renew calmly, consider an alternative or prepare to leave without compressing every decision into the last few days.

Start with the Help Centre’s extension answers, then contact bookings@mbgcllc.com when you are ready to discuss your dates.
