Weekly or Monthly? Choosing the Right Furnished Stay

The best booking period is not simply the longest one you can afford or the shortest one you can secure. It is the period that gives your plans enough room without creating unnecessary commitment.

Weekly stays suit defined, shorter plans

A weekly stay can be the better fit when the purpose is clear and the finish date is reasonably firm: a short project, a family visit, a trial period in a new city or the gap between two confirmed homes. You still get the space and routine of a furnished residence, without booking a full month that you may not need.

Monthly stays create breathing room

Monthly accommodation is often more practical for relocation, insurance displacement, extended business assignments, study blocks and home renovations. Fewer booking transitions mean less time spent renegotiating dates, moving belongings or rebuilding a routine.

A month also gives a guest time to use the home as intended: cook properly, set up a workspace, learn the neighbourhood and settle into an ordinary rhythm.

Three questions usually make the answer clearer

  1. How certain is the end date? If it is still moving, ask about renewal before choosing a shorter initial term.
  2. What would another move cost? Include time, transport and disruption, not just the next accommodation rate.
  3. What does the booking policy allow? A flexible plan is only useful when the applicable modification and cancellation terms support it.

Do not treat the rate period as the whole decision

Look at the complete arrangement: utilities, internet, furnishings, laundry, cleaning expectations, parking, deposits and support. Two homes offered for the same period can create very different day-to-day costs.

Leave room for renewal

Mbgc stays are offered by the week or month, generally for up to around three months. If your plans may continue, speak with the Booking Desk before the current booking ends. An extension remains subject to availability, so earlier is better than waiting until departure week.

A useful rule of thumb

Choose weekly when the dates are firm. Choose monthly when continuity matters more than a tightly defined end date. If neither feels right, share the full situation with the Booking Desk rather than forcing the stay into the wrong shape.

See current guidance on booking and extensions, or review the refund and cancellation policy before confirming.
